Trapped Stitch

I was getting ready to send my bedsheet and pillow cases for washing when I lifted my blanket and saw a funny sight. Stich was stuck at the corner of the bed and he seemed to be holding on for dear life. Haha.

Does It Have To Be This Way?

I had a weird dream this morning. I dreamt that I was in a classroom again and it was my first day in the class. I was upset with one particular student and sent him out of the class.

Somehow the dream got disjointed and I dreamt that I was at some place where I happened to see many students from the school I used to teach at. I saw some of my former students and who came over to chat with me. Later on, I happened to see the VP and we had a chat. I can't remember the content of that dialogue but the parting line he gave me was something that got stuck in my head.

"You can't get back into Teaching on your own. There is only one way for you to get back into Teaching, you have to return to **SS. Do you want to return?"

In the dream, I pondered only for a short while and I gave him my reply. What my reply is? It is something only for me to know and for you to guess.

Barely Awake

Ooooh, this night shift is killing me. I am barely awake by the time 4am comes around. Had to take a quick short nap during breakfast. Wooozy.

Waiting For Tonight

Just woke up barely half an hour ago and will be going back to sleep again later. I am about to start my 4 weeks rotation of night shift. I hope I don't fall asleep at work tonight. Haha.

In 2 Minds

It has been almost 3 months since I am in my current job. Yes, it is a job, it is not a career. Till now I am still pondering if I should stay on.

Most recently, the company has revised its own regulations dealing with RoHS (Removal of Hazardous Substance) and I grabbed the opportunity to conduct the lessons for the 4 shifts in my unit. My fellow supervisors claimed that I took to the lesson like a fish to water when I was conducting the lessons. I looked so happy and encouraging when I conducted the lessons. To me, it was a great feeling to once again be teaching again, albeit only for 4 lessons. Oooh, I really really miss the classroom and my kids.

Just today I have been passed new training material on "The Basics of Production Quality Control" and was asked to go through it. After I am done, I am then supposed to conduct lessons for my fellow supervisors and the senior technicians. This time, it is going to take some time for me to digest the material. The book is really thick and there is a test at the end of it. If you score high enough in the test, our parent company will issue you a certificate. Hmmm.......

Working On A Sunday

With the need for shift work, I am now working on Sundays. Ah Well, at least there are no bosses around. Have to troubleshoot on the spot though. Kinda challenging.

Long Sleep Again

Ooooh. All that 12 hours shift strain has come back to haunt me. I just slept and slept and slept the whole day away. Yawn. Or maybe it has something to do with me cycling to work on 2 of my work days. Hmmm....

Shift Work....Tiring

Finally completed 3 days of shift work. Yawn. I'm feeling tired now. I have had worked really long hours previously but somehow when shift work does not feel like overtime, it becomes more of a stretch. I have been lucky that my initial stretch of shift work is in the day shift. After next week, I'm going to be in the night shift. Ooooh. I hope I can stay awake at night.

14 Hours Of Sleep!

Went to sleep around 7:30pm last night and only woke up around 10:30am this morning! I am getting really old for all that cycling.

Spent almost 5 hours in the theatres at GV Vivocity and of the 2 shows I watched today, Sherlock Holmes and Bodyguards & Assasins, I felt the latter was better. It could be the link in Chinese lineage and history or it was just a better show.

Tired But Happy

Just came back from a day out cycling around. It felt good but now I feel really drained. Haha. Went around to purchase tickets to a couple of shows. I had asked some of my friends if they were interested but they were either put off by the cost or by me. No problem there. At least I got my tickets to a couple of good theatre plays.

I got a ticket to "Man and Women, War and Peace" a Mandarin/Cantonese play that is running during the Huayi festival in February. Based on the posters and pamphlets, it gives me a feeling that it will be along the lines of "Defending the Caveman" but grittier. It looks good and I can't wait. I don't attend plays unless I can see the expressions on the actors and actresses faces. I did not mind playing for the better seats of $111.

Another play which I got a ticket to is SRT's production of "Blackbird". I have been a fan of SRT's productions since I went to their "A Midsummer's Night Dream" production at Fort Canning Park back in 2007. Although I had company back then, and I must admit her presence made it a better experience, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I felt that it was worth the money to pay good money for good plays. My favourite production from SRT thus far is "Pillowman", with "Avenue Q" a close second. I have been waiting for another good production from SRT since last year's "Defending the Caveman" and the storyline for "Blackbird" seems really interesting. $53 seems good value for the show.

To round things up for the day, I dropped by Golden Village Vivocity to check out the status on my HSBC Prepaid Movie card to see how many tickets I have left and the expiry. With 3 ticktes left, expiry in March and the day's shows filling up fast, I decided to get some tickets for show in the next few days. Got a ticket each for tomorrow's screening of "Sherlock Holmes" at 1:30pm and "Bodyguards and Assasins" at 3:50pm. With the "Avatar" craze, I thought, why not, and got a ticket for the 3D version on Monday at 2:30pm. I still have 1 ticket left on my prepaid card as I could not use it for the "Avatar" 3D show and am thinking of using it on a later date. Somehow seeing "me" and "my brothers" did not really interest me without the presence of company. Haha.

The only bad thing for today? Along the way, I discovered that my bicycle lock is damaged. Ah well. Need to get a new lock tomorrow when I am at Giant then. I need a new helmet too. Hmmm......

A Bright Beginning?

I was sleeping pecefully when bright flashes of light brightened my entire room and coupled with rumblings, I thought that it was a heavy thunderstorm. I slid my window to one side and I realised what all that commotion is about. Exactly a year ago, this had happened. This year although smaller scale, it has happened again. What am I talking about?

Fireworks bursting forth in the sky while I lie down in the comforts of my bed and taking in the brilliance of lights and colours.
