movie blur
i am going out of my mind. over the ast 2 days i have watched as many as 10 movies! everything is starting to be a blur to me. i cannot even remember the titles of some of the movies i watched! man! but one movie i did like was "The Queen". it allowed people to be able to see things from the perspective of queen elizabeth 2 and also humanised her. good movie it was although it was on a sensitive issue,

so close yet so far
went visiting one of my friends today. we were formerly colleagues and have remained friends. no, do not let your mind run wild.
when she gave me her address, it seemed somewhat familiar to me. i did a quick check of my lists of contacts and lo! it was just the neighbouring street from Sweetie's place. in fact, it was only 3 minutes walk away. ah well, it has been a while since i spoke with her. haiz.

新年快樂
To the Chinese the world over, 新年快樂 or Happy New Year to the few who cannot read chinese characters.
On the first day of Chinese New Year, I am more or less done with the visiting for the year. Really! I do not have many relatives and we had all gathered at my Second Uncle's place today. My Granny was discharged from the hospital on the eve of Chinese New Year and is recuperating there now. I hope she regains consciousness soon. Get well soon Granny!

very expensive breakfast
i was cleaning up the house the past few days and found a can of "just expired" abalone. hmmm......there also happends to be a packet of shark's fin in the freezer which has been sitting there for about 3 to 5 years.
to make the best of things, i whipped up a pot of very expensive porridge for breakfast. haha. shark's fin and abalone porridge with minced-pork. yummmm......hahaha.
if you think i am rich, think again. i am from the upper rungs of a lower-income family. in singapore, you are either, lower-income, middle-income or filthy rich. so now you know. just do not want anyone thinking i am showing off.
the can of abalone was a gift from someone from years ago and the shark's fin was also a gift from someone from back then. there fore, i only really paid for the rice, and minced pork. kinda of low cost on my part for such an expensive pot of porridge. hahaha.

out cycling
went out cycling again today. same usual route. well, i did make one detour up kent ridge park today. always passed it but never went up it. barely was i up halfway when i had to dismount from my bicycle and push it up the slope. the slope was bloody steep and i have not cycled for many many moons. but at the end of it, the view from the lookout point was rewarding.

missing someone?
ever wonder why you miss someone? or why you care about somebody? this feelings though different are invariably linked to something else. that something is love. much as you hate to admit it, deep down, if you have no feelings for someone, would you miss the person, would you care for the person?

Memories Of Days Gone By
Back in October, there was a gathering of guys, former Josephians from the SJI Class of 1996. We were a rowdy bunch back in our younger days. Now, we are all getting older and me rounder. It was great catching up with some of the guys. It was even better catchingup with some teachers who have since retired. Like Mr Patrick Zendher. He was my PE tutor in my Secondary One & Two days. We used to laugh at the crude Popeye joke. Haha.
I remember when we first entered SJI as blur 12 year olds, he was the elder statesman who rang the bell in the school hall as we were welcomed into the SJI community. Again when we returned to recieve our 'O' Level results, once again he rangs us out. 10 Years later, it is great to see him once again ringing the bell to welcome us back to again. Seeing him ring that bell really brings back many many memories.
I mainly hanged with my ECA mates from back then. We were a pretty close knit bunch. Well, besides them, I did not really had many other friends. While chatting about our progress, turns out I was speaking to 2 SIA employees. Jeffery, who always claim he did not want to be an engineer when I met him in NTU, is now a Cadet Pilot. Nicholas, who majored in Philosophy from NUS, is now a Trainee Station Manager with SIA too. Damn! Stupid company which only accepts 2nd Upper Class Honors graduates. Arggg!
Of course, who could forget the principal who molded all of us into what we are today, Brother Paul Rogers. He was very strict on us bacj then and I still shudder at the tongue lashings he handed out back then. Now, seeing him, it makes for fun memories. Couple of years after we had left SJI, he returned to Australia where he was the Director of a Boy's Home. Now, he is the principal of CJC. Yes, boys and girls, shudder. Well, at least he is much more approachable than the former principal Sister Maria, according to what I heard.
When he was addressing us on stage, he mentioned that many had asked him why he shaved off his moustache. Well, if you look at his face clearly, and you add the moustache back in, he does bear a passing resembalance to Sadammn Hussein. Oooooooh.
Days gone by and life moves on. Tomorrow is another day for us to do something with our lives. What are you planning to do?

rejected......haiz
another case of always the good friend but never anything more. this really sucks! i wonder how long it is going to take me this time to let go. i did not want to bring the issue up for she has been very important to me and did not want to walk the way as did my past attempts with others. heck, i was even planning something big for next year if things went well. alas. and i do not want to hear the issue of "why can not we be just friends?". i am a person with low self-esteem and do not like to associate with people who look down or reject me.
