Sleeping Non Stop
I am not sure if I am physically ill or I am really really tired. I just kept sleeping and sleeping. I slept so much, it is getting scary. Also, too many weird dreams. Too Many.

Cooking Porridge
Been having some indigestion and acid reflux this entire week. Arggg. Woke up early and started to cook some porridge. Comfort food when the stomach is not at its best behavior.

Ice Cream Galore
Went to help out at the students' stall selling ice-cream today. Haha. we had so much fun digging and scooping and thereafter playing with the dry ice. My right arm is kind of sore from all that scooping. Ooooh. Now when I see ice-cream, I want to run. Hahaha.

Fat Hope
It seems that in this wrld, when we say that someone is wishful thinking, we tend to exclaim, FAT HOPE. What is it with humans and being fat? Us humans are the worse when it comes to self-species interactions. We put others down, despise others and all other negative aspects. All for what?

Relationships & Interactions
I was just watching Marley and Me the movie and it brought me back to the time when I was reading the book. It was one of the few books that caused me to be teary eyed when I finished it. In it, the author John Grogan had wrote some lines, which I think many of us never found out what we were really missing. It was not until this year when I realised what I have been missing. That is proper human interaction. When I teach my kids, I may feel frustrated at times. I might get angry at times. However, they always bring a smile upon my heart. They make my day. From the intricacies of cliques and power struggle going on within the staff room, this year, I have always found joy when I faced my students. They are truly what made me want to be an educator. Sadly, due to various problems with the other staff and what they perceived as wrongdoing or stubborness on my part, I have been asked to leave. They want to put me down, want me to leave the education sector forever. I know I have unfinished business, I will get my qualifications elsewhere and I will return.
A dog has no use for fancy cars or big homes or designer clothes. Status symbols did not matter to him. A waterlogged stick will do just fine. A dog judges others not by their colour or creed or class but by who they are inside. A dog does not care if you are rich or poor, educated or illiterate, clever or dull. Give him your heart and he will give you his. It was really simple and yet we humans, so much wiser and more sophisticated, have always had trouble figuring out what really counts and what does not...........I realise that it was right there in front of us, if only we opened our eyes to see. Sometimes it took a dog with bad breath, worse manners, and pure intentions to help us see.
How many people can you say that about? How many people can make you feel rare, pure and special? How many people can make you feel extraordinary?
So I shall say this to my power hungry soon to be ex-colleagues,
Think back to why you are teaching, what are your true intentions. The students may cause problems but have you no part in contributing to that problem? Have you not influenced them in ways where they are only obedient to you? Trust in them and do not alienate them. They may not change now but your lessons will definitely stay with them. For if you give them your heart, if your concerns are truly genuine, they will give you theirs.

Movies
Went for Angels & Demons today with a couple of colleagues at Vivocity. I would think that the movie is ok. I much prefer Star-Trek. The plot and story line there seemed better. A&D just seemed a little too flighty for my fancy. This is just my personal observation.

Last Of The Marking
On my table sits the final pile of work I will be marking for some time. The kids worked really hard to produce the final work and I hope that their hard work will prevail.

Long Weekend Part 2
The second of two consecutive long wekends are at hand. Only 23 more days until I am no longer an educator. Sigh. Today we bid farewell to the educators on attachment and expecially to Ronald, who is returning to the Philippines at the end of the month. Take care Ronald, hope you enjoyed your stint here.

Long Weekend Part 1
The first of 2 consecutive long weekends is at an end. Tomorrow got to head back to school. I am going to miss the kids when my term ends. I hope to return to the teaching line one day but definitely not in such circumstances.

Last Of The Marking
Soon I will no longer need to mark these D&T journals anymore. The bane of my teaching career. I am so looking forward to the day when I can concentrate on maths purely. Quick quick come!
