bikinis are flimsy

had my first lifeguard duty today. was told to arrive at 7am at NTU SRC pool only to find out that the NTU Sports Club wanted to start early but had no approval. in the end, weisiong and i hung around till 10am before the event proper started. i need to add though, it was waste time man. the Sports Club had 4 waves of swimmers coming in to swim 50 meters each. that's it! i think they were having some sort of competition from the Freshmen camp and were trying to urge each other to move quick and fast. here come the highlight of the day. during the second wave, one guy was over zealous in helping his female counterpart out of the pool, he lifted her up so fast, the water displaced her bikini top. lo and behold, "lefty" said "hi". the cheering which was going on so loudly and raptiously together with all the video filming and photo taking, suddenly died to a whimper. up to 20 over people were introduced to "lefty". i missed making acquaintance with "lefty" as i was more intent on looking after my charges at my side of the pool. damn! wasted! on a less "happening" event, another gal in the final wave, who could not swim, was practically doing aqua jogging while wearing a life vest with 2 guys towing her. man! this is only swimming. when the hall games come in, would there be more wardrobe malfunctions? as i have always said, bikinis are flimsy pieces of cloth. i did not see a single gal today not adjusting her top before getting out of the water. bikinis create too much drag and are not conducive for swimming. ever.
