A Little Corner Of Singapore

No, it is not some islated spot as the title says. Neither is it one of the places where you must have a personal transport to arrive at. In fact it is well served by all forms of transport, except maybe boats.

This little place is tucked away neatly on a piece of reclaimed land. Many people shed tears of sadness and just as many shed tears of joy as well. Many boxes can be seen and many unique items surface here as well. Business deals are agreed upon here and friendships are forged here. You will not see any animals here, well maybe except of the canine species and the homosapiens who seem to be still stuck in monkey mode. There are the occasional crustacean and live fish here but they usually do not survive for long. Large roaring noises occurs every few minutes and yet it can not be heard. However, the occasional car horn pierces the hustle and bustle of the place when the doors are ajar. Many do not come here for a simple jaunt now due to the distance and the illness that is spreading. Yet, the human traffic here never reduces by much.

Where little kids have their first taste of trolley racing and can have fun playing with crayons. Where recycle bins are better designed to peak the environmentalist within. Where food just seem that little bit fresher and better tasting. Where items like mashed potato can even be sold out! Where people of all creed, nations and faith congregate without so much of a complaint. Where toy guns go hand in hand with real live weapons.

It is a place I go to to relax from Singapore. It seems away yet it is not. The wide open space appeals to me. The quietness and the sudden clamour of human traffic never fails to puts me at ease. This is my home away from home. This is where I love to be to actually hear myself think. This is where I go to walk away my unhappiness and allow that "little" metal object "take" it away from me.

Where am I talking about? Changi Airport of course.
