Lousy Career Fair

Went to the career fair today and there really was not much on offer. A couple of Aviation jobs which required Honors degree holders only and a whole bunch of Casino, eh....no cannot say Casino must say IR, jobs. A few Security low level entry jobs and that's about it. Really disappointing.

On a side note, saw that there was some kind of MOE Excel event at the halls lower down and went into to walk walk. It was pretty interesting. I especially liked the projects by the primary schools and a couple of the secondary schools. The rest, my feeling is that they were too "Clean". No personality.

While there, at another exhibition next door, I met a former friend whom I had cut off previously and felt that I made the correct decision. We chat and we caught up but when he heard that I am now gainfully employed, he told me to give up and never to return to Teaching. He said that if I cannot make it then, no point to keep wanting to return. This is why I chose to leave behind all those whom I called friends when I was teaching. You need not encourage me to try again or to improve myself to adapt to teaching if you feel I am not up to it. However, if you are not being positive, stop trying to show your "honesty" and tell me to leave once and for all. I don't need friends like this.
