Run Of The Mill (Part 2)
It was 2 more months to Special Project Term. Niv had yet to find a group to work with. He approached Herman but he had already agreed to join his friends and their group was full. He tried asking around and was directed to ask a particular person called One. The name was familiar but he could not place it. When he called One, Niv was surprised to find out that One was the very same person in his Communication Skills tutorial group. It was a real coincidence. Niv asked if One was still looking for members to join their group. One was accommodating and invited Niv.
Special Project Term came and the group was soon working hard with Mloc as the group leader. Well, not exactly. They were watching movies and playing computer games making use of the tutorial rooms audio-visual systems. However, they too put in their fair share of work and when it came to an end, the group had succeeded beyond their own expectations. They came in first in their category for the competition. Also, from here, Niv had fallen for one of the group members, Renkar. Alas, things were never meant to be for Niv never won Renkar's heart and they have a very indifferent attitude towards each other right till today.
In the semester immediately after, the friendship between Mloc and Niv grew. On occasions, they would be having a swim at the pool and discussed about their personal problems and Mloc had chided Niv for being indecisive. Also, Mloc had raised his worry for his own relationship with his then girlfriend. Niv then suggested that they could consider engagement to put her at ease. Little did he know, couple of months later, Mloc announced to Niv that he had proposed and that he was soon getting married.
During the remaining days at the university, Niv had tried his hands at Scuba Diving and Photography, both of which have become one of his favourite pastimes now. Also, a module in Vocal Production had given him such insights that the benefits carried on long after he left the university. He had such fun in the Photography and Vocal module that he soon forgot about the problems he had with Renkar and his former group mates. Spending most of his time dabbling with photography, he went around taking photos of all that had value to him and also experimenting with night shots. Those were the moments when Niv was truly at ease and happy throughout his university life.
