Working on a Sunday

Sigh. I am back at work on a Sunday. Got a machine which kept giving fault during tank change and I have yet to figure out a way to settle the issue. At least the shift guys I am working with today are fun loving people. We even had a round of sushi eating game where we placed large amount of wasabi on a sushi and then played rock paper scissors, loser eating the modified sushi. Hahaha! Real great fun!

Scrubbing the Kitchen

The kitchen is in a really bad state with all the oil stains on the wall and countertop due to frying done previously. I have not been frying anything since the stove broke down 2 months back. However, I have not been eating really healthy food since. Heez.

Spent the afternoon scrubbing clean the kitchen and sterilizing all the utensils. It was hard work but after all that cleaning, the result was really satisfying. Nothing like a clean kitchen.

Working 30 Hours Shift?

It is the wee hours of Saturday early morning and I am still in the office. There had been much trouble among my machines and I chose to stay so that I can assist in getting the job done. My AEs asked me how is it that I don't feel tired. My reply is that with work, tiredness is secondary. well, not really though. It is just that sometimes, work pushes me on.come 8.30am I will be in the office for 24 hours. I think by the time I leave for home, it will be close to 30 hours. Hahahaha. Ah well, this kind of life will only last for another 3 months or so. Heeez.

A Phone Call

All it took was a phone call during the week to liven up my entire week! After many moons of not answering my calls, she finally did and i was really happy. Although we spoke for only a mere 6 inutes, compared to the hours upon hours we did previously, these 6 minutes are the best moments I have had in a very very long time. I really miss her after all this time. Our common friend even mentioned that she hopes things will work out between us. I do hope so too myself. I really do.

Out WIth The Altar

The altar in my Granny's home has been around since before I was born but today, after being a part of the family for many many years, it has finally been thrown away. It made me think that when I am old, will my family (that is if I ever get maried) throw me out too? Looking at the generations of kids nowsadays......sigh

Well Rested

Finally. After a week of toiling I am finally able to get a good long sleep. Ahhhh. Got to enjoy this as much as I can for in a month's time, I will be going back to my camp for the annual dreaded, In-Camp Training. Other people love to go back for ICT. Me? I hate going back for ICT because I feel it is a total waste of time. Expecially when people like me have to do all that leg work for 10 annual ICTs just because we did not get selected for SISPEC or OCS course. True that they suffered during their course but thereafter, they only need to sit back, shake their leg and maintain order among the enlisted men until the day they finish their 10 ICTs. Stupid NS.

Walking Zombie

YAWN! I have been working overtime for the past thress nights due to various issues in the plant. Just yesterday, I worked overtime till this morning at about 5am before going home to take a shower and returning to work thereafter. It does shows on my face my lack of sleep but my subordinates were amazed at my ability to keep going after so many consecutive days of working up to at least 17 hours and more. Well, I am made of flesh and blood too. Today, I am feeling really at my edge and it is time ot come home to have a good sleep. Ahhhhhhhzzzzzzz

Dust Allergy

Ahchoo! Arggg! My dust allergies are back to haunt me again. I was packing my granny's room with my mum and while in the process of removing the very old and very worned out dressing table, I got hit by all the dust that had been hiding behind. My nose really hurts now and I am starting to feel woozy again.

Moving Soon

After procrastinating for many many months, my mum has finally mentioned that it is time we moved our things out of my late grandmother's home. Thing is, I have always been the proactive one, haveing started moving my stuff little by little. However, my mum on the other hand, would mention that she will do some packing on her own, without any form of cajouling from me, and till now, I have seen nothing done. The way I see it, till the day we are evicted, she will still not have done any packing. Sigh.

Scent In Memory

During the week, I smelt a couple of scents which brought back fond memories for me

1) The smell of Long John's Silver
I have not been at LJS or eaten LJS for about 2 years now. Back in November 2006, prior to visit a beloved friend overseas, she had made a request for some food from LJS for she had been away from Singapore, on an exchange program in Shanghai for almost 5 months then, and missed the taste of LJS. That smell of LJS brought back memories of my trip to Shanghai to spend time with that beloved friend. Alas, nothing came out of that attempt.

2) A particular fragrance from The Body Shop
I do not know the name of this fragrance but it was the exact air fragrance a former colleague of mine used to place at her desk at work. Smelling that fragrance would instantly bring her to my mind. She has a natural scent of her own but this particular scent gives her a calmer outlook. Not that I do not think about her often, after all we were pretty close but she has chosen not to include me in her life anymore. However, she has been fleeting in and out of my mind of recent. Ah well. While on my way home from work on board the MRT this week, I suddenly smelt that familiar fragrance again and instantly it registered in my mind as her. I looked around the train carriage but could not find anyone looking like her. Hmmmm......

3) The fragrance of Rose Syrup
Well......this particular fragrance has something to do with a current colleague of mine. She has this mini pillow on her desk which I had always assumed that it was something she used to rest her wrist upon while using the mouse. However, while working overtime last night, I erm......picked it up and played with it and realised then it was a "Crabtree & Evelyn" product. My impression of their products are of mostly the scented kind. I took a sniff of it and I was hit with a fragrance that was supposed to be Rose but smelt more like Rose Syrup to me. Bad thing about it is that I am kind of hooked on sniffing her mini pillow when no one is watching because it give me a calming sensation. Oops. Heez.

It is believed that humans are attracted to each other by the scent or pheromones that is given off by the other party. Interestingly, I had the opportunity to smell the above scents of ladies. Ladies who are fond memories of my past as I had fancied them one time or another, except for the last one of which I do not want to make any attempts for I know that it is doomed to fail. It just seems that with these scents, they mark the memories of these special ladies in my life.
